Matthew 11:28-30
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. (KJV)

This verse is an invitation from Jesus to the unsaved. I have been saved since I was four years old. I was so heavy laden that the Lord saw fit to save me at such a young age. Nevertheless, this verse still applies to me. I am, very often still, heavy laden. Like the sinner that I am, it is a struggle for me to rest my soul. I fight to carry my burden myself.

As a Christian I am called to give my body as a living sacrifice. To quote one of my favorite preachers, Ray Comfort, "The problem with a living sacrifice is that it keeps crawling off the altar"

I've been blessed with "a thorn in my flesh": a chronic illness that has me constantly searching for a cure for my body, and always finding grace and rest for my soul.

It is my intent to share with you what I have found helpful in my search for physical health, and along the way learn to rest my soul more often.

I welcome any comments and ideas that will make this blog a place you will want to come and learn from.

  1. I love this... what an honest post! I think it's beautiful that you find your illness(s) a blessing and turn to God through it! We all should follow that same way of obedience. This is how we learn what God wants to teach us, and we remember to rely on Him. I also like your blog (even though I'm not a blog fan), and I don't think the name is stupid either :-)
